Larry Rupp
Larry Rupp’s law enforcement life style began in December 1967 as a patrolman for the Compton Police Department. He spent one and a half years with Compton and then laterally transferred to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. He has worked the majority of his time in patrol, and in the high crime rate areas of Firestone Park, Lynwood, East Los Angeles, Metro Blue line Station assignments. He was a drill instructor for three and a half years at the L.A. Sheriff’s Academy and Officer Survival instructor for two years. He has trained the entire department’s patrol divisions for crowd and riot control, tear gas deployment and command post operations for the 1984 Olympics.
Larry was a team member and scout for the L.A. Sheriff’s Special Weapons and Tactics team for eight and a half years. He was a credentialed instructor in Humboldt, Sacramento and Los Angeles Counties for combat operations, anti-terrorist responses, barricaded suspects and hostage situations, building searches, weapon retention and take away. He has trained well over ten thousand officers in his entire career.
Larry was promoted to sergeant in 1985 and assigned to Lynwood Sheriff’s Station for three and a half years. He then transferred to East Los Angeles Station where he spent the remainder of his career.
Larry retired from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in 1998 and has maintained a close relationship with the administration of the department and still meets with them routinely.
Larry became a licensed private investigator in 1999. He performed work for the Riverside Conflict Panel for several years in the Cities of Perris, Homeland, Romoland and Hemet. This work was primarily defense work for the Riverside County Public Defenders Office.
In 2003 Larry became a personal bodyguard for a whole variety of movie and singing entertainers. This enabled him to travel to many parts and shows in Canada and sixty-five shows in the United States. He then became a personal bodyguard for a major movie actor and his family that allowed him to travel to England and France as well.
Larry is a “hands-on” administrator and exemplifies a very strong command presence and a dynamic work ethic.
